Therapy Experience and Qualifications
Evidence based therapy for real change. Any change starts with one new perspective.
Therapy experience
I have almost a decade of NHS Talking Therapy experience where I treated hundreds of client’s with a range of concerns. These included depression, general anxiety, stress, burnout, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD, PTSD and BDD.
I also have expertise in treating emotional eating concerns and low self-esteem. I worked in a specialist hospital setting for two years supporting client’s with their weight management and some associated health concerns such as Type II diabetes, cholesterol and cardiac difficulties.
I’m experienced in running therapy groups and supervising Psychology Practitioners.
I now work exclusively in private therapy practice.
New ways of thinking. New ways of living.
Previous Clinical Experience
During the previous decade, I worked in various clinical roles within the charity, criminal justice and education sectors.
I supported victim/survivors of crime by offering courses of emotional and practical support sessions. I offered counselling approaches, and practical support with personal safety guidance, and preparing for police and court processes.
I worked with the Youth Offending Team to provide victim/survivor awareness training to groups of young offenders. I worked collaboratively with probation services and the police.
I worked in special educational needs and disabilities where I supported parents to access additional funding and educational support for children with additional needs, I held a senior management position in this service.
This varied professional background and broader understanding of social systems, supports me to work holistically and sensitively with social stressors, life transitions and any complexity that may arise in therapy.
Thoughts are powerful, but they are not always facts. New ways of thinking opens the door to new ways of living.
